Welcome to Susanna Wesley UMC!
Worship is at the heart of a church’s life and mission. It is a time for believers to come together in reverence, gratitude, and praise to God. Worship involves several key elements, each serving to deepen our relationship with God and with one another as a community of faith:
Praise and Thanksgiving: Through songs, hymns, and music, we express our gratitude and awe for God's goodness, power, and love.
1. Prayer: Worship includes moments of prayer where we seek God’s guidance, intercede for others, and align our hearts with God’s will.
2. Scripture: Reading and reflecting on the Bible is central to worship, allowing us to hear God's voice and grow in understanding of God’s Word.
3. Teaching and Preaching: Messages rooted in Scripture challenge, encourage, and equip us to live out our faith in everyday life.
4. Sacraments and Rituals: Observing practices like communion, baptism, or other sacred acts connects us to the core truths of our faith and reminds us of God's grace. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month and is open to all who seek to know God through Jesus Christ.
5. Fellowship: Worship is also a time to unite as a community, encouraging and supporting one another in our spiritual journeys.
